Our Residents and Horses for Sale

ROMAN ATTRACTION
Click here for pedigree. Click your back button to return to this page.

Roman is our young stallion, by ART I SWEET, and was raised right here at Everett Acres. He is the third generation of his family that currently resides at Everett Acres. His dam and granddam are pictured below. Roman currently stands 17.1+H. He has the sweetest disposition you could imagine. He is very gentle. He has his own pen but is able to talk to the girls on the other side of the fence.

Roman loves attention. He has a bright expression that greets everyone who comes along. His beauty is incredible and his personality is phenominal. Both of Roman's parents have the same outstanding looks and gentle personality that he has. He is very well balanced  and thus, from a distance, doesn't always appear as tall as he really is. But there is no doubt about his height when you stand next to him! He's big.

I m so-o-o-o thankful to have a sane horse under me! It's a long way to the ground from his back and I don't want to come off unintentionally. I can't say enough about this horse. We truly could not ask for a nicer stallion.

This is me riding Roman Attractionin an article that was written in an agriculture publication.

This is an article with Roman pictured, that was written in 2006 in a local agriculture publication.

CANT TOUCH THIS BLUE
 FOR SALE
This is "Popeye" (Cant Touch This Blue). See his pedigree here. He is a young, up and coming HUS show prospect. Popeye is a 2005 gelding by SKYS BLUE BOY and out of Bejilla's Jewel (TB). He is currently 16.2 hands.

Popeye is the only full sibling to the world qualifying mare, FULL OF RHYTHM NBLUES. "Rhythm" as she is called, started showing as a three year old. In a little over a month of ever showing AQHA, she earned a ROM and qualified for the World Show! Her movement was so fluid it looked like she was moving on air. Guess what? Popeye can move that way, too. All three gaits are head turning, jaw dropping good. Popeye's stride is naturally huge (21" overstep at a walk!). This is a proven cross.

Popeye is enrolled in AQHA Incentive Fund and paid for lifetime eligibility for NSBA futurities.
If you want to win big, this is what you get to accomplish that goal.

Bejilla' Jewel (TB)

We are sorry to say that Bejilla's Jewel (a.k.a."BJ") passed away Sept. 12 from severe colic. She left a 4 month old filly, Ruby, who is doing very well. We will miss BJ so very much. She was one of our best broodmares and a dear friend of mine.
BJ was a beautiful mare that produces lovely foals. She is dam of CANT TOUCH THIS BLUE (above), and his sister Full Of Rhythm NBlues. BJ is a race winning mare by Bejilla (TB). She was even nominated to the prestigeous Breeders' Cup. She is a big bodied mare (16.1+H) with a lovely swan neck. She has a very smoooth stride. BJ was purchased from Dragaonfly Farm several years ago. She now lives happily at Everett Acres.

SKIPA FRECKLE JAGUAR

"Jag" is a lovely 16.1H bay mare. She is the dam of Roman Attraction (above) and a gray gelding Never Better Magic . Jag is Wenloch Annie's foal (see Annie below). See Jag's pedigree here. She is a fully registered Quarter Horse.
Jag has a full brother, Freckles Bar Ghost, who is now living on the East Coast and competing in dressage. A photo of Ghost is on the photo album page. Jag had a hard life since before she was born. From shortly before her birth to the time she was just 1 year old, when I purchased her, she had not been cared for properly. She had never had immunizations, never had her feet trimmed, and was not fed nor cared for properly. When Jag began to receive proper care, she was still in a very developmental part of her life. From one extreme to the next, her body reacted to all the neglect and then normal care. She went through fast growth spurts and even foundered. She also got a bad wire cut on her pastern. We decided not to break Jag and put more undue stress on this mare for the rest of her life. She now lives happily in a huge pasture where she gets to be a mother. Jag is an awesome producer. She passes on her beauty, grace, and her quiet mind to all her babies.

Jag's first foal NEVER BETTER MAGIC (small photo just above) is making waves with his owner in North Carolina. They have been competing regularly in dressage, jumping and combined training. They are consistently placing, usually 1st and 2nd. They also participate in area equine events like colleges and a Lynn Palm seminar, where they receive many positive comments.

Jag's second foal is, of course, our very own beloved stallion, Roman Attraction. He was shown successfully in halter, winning all his classes. We enjoyed showing him until his fence injury prevented us from continuing to show under saddle.

These two offspring have proved their dam is an excellent producer.

WENLOCH ANNIE

Annie is one of our original broodmares. Annie is the dam of Skipa Freckle Jaguar (above) and her full bother Ghost (see photo album) also dam of Noah who qualified for the 2008 AQHA Select World Show. Annie is a foundation type mare that only stands 15.2+hands. She can throw big foals, some over 17 hands tall. Thus far 3 of her last 5 foals were over 16 hands.

Annie was also neglected when I purchased her. She was starving. She looked like a 20-something year old mare that she was stabled with, but she was only 11. She had not had her immunizations for the year and had not had her feet trimmed for a whole year. Her feet were so long she was in pain when she tried to walk. When I got her home and fed her, the grain spilled out of the sides of her mouth because she was weak and lethargic. The rest of the horses where I got Annie and Jag didn't look bad like they did. I don't know what the problem was, but I rescued them both. Annie had been sold and moved around the country, while in foal, 3 times in the year that I bought her.

Because of the height she can throw and her good bloodlines (see her pedigree), we find her to be a valuable asset to our program. Her bloodlines include Jaguar, Leo, Three bars, Skipper W, and Bill Cody to name a few. Annie was originally bred and raised by the late former president of the Michigan QHA, and current AQHA Hall of Fame inductee, Gerald O' Connor. She has been an outstanding broodmare. She has get performing in a variety of competitions around the country and is the producer of an AQHA Select World Show Top 5 placer.

Annie's foal, Magic Journey ("Noah"), has started competing in AQHA English events. He is doing quite well and has even earned some incentive funds as a green horse. See Noah's first AQHA Select World Competition here!

Apollo Mac
Standing in 2009. Get a little piece of history.
Apollo came to live with us in September of 2006 when he was 24 years old. See his pedigree here. Apollo has a very kind spirit. He likes to know what is going on around him, kind of like a watch dog. But he is always pretty even tempered. Not much riles this guy. He's been around the block a few times. He rode over 300 miles in a stock/horse combo trailer with a mare hanging her head over his rump the whole way. Neither one ever whinnied, pawed, or threw a fit of any kind the whole trip.

Apollo is solid black like his sire, Boston Mac, but he does have one white star under his forelock. It gives him a little character. Apollo has a wonderful bright expression that greets you at the gate. He has wonderful sound legs. That's amazing since he used to work cattle on a 300 head ranch day in and day out. He does not have any splints nor blemishes on his legs. Good bone on this boy.

We are proud to have Apollo stand at stud in 2009. Live cover will be available this year. We will try shipped cooled semen upon requesst. Apollo is also an AQHA Incentive Fund enrolled stallion for 2009. Breeding Services provided by Sierra Vista Ranch, Stratford, TX. Find out more on Apollo's page.

Fancy Jannie 786

This is "MaMa King". She came to live with us when Apollo did. MaMa King has just the sweetest disposition. I don't think she could hurt a flea. Supposedly she had been ridden in the past, but I don't know how far back in the past that was. I tried to ride her. She never acted like it was strange to have someone up on her back, but she just didn't really have any steering nor a go forward understanding. She had a good "whoa". I tried a hackamore on her which worked best. I rode her on an AQHA sponsored trail ride on a freezing day one December. It was freezing!! Mama King packed me around up and down and around the trail, even when I didn't know she had a big piece of a cactus stuck in her paster--she kept going until someone pointed it out to me. I felt so bad, but she never gave any indication anything was wrong. She has the temperment you'd want for a kid's horse. She's out in pasture with the broodmares right now. being a broodmare has been her main job for many years. She has a little arthritis now, so she has slowed down a bit. She's pictured here with her 2008 filly, Rory, by our stallion, Roman Attraction.

MaMa has King P234 and Clabber Bars on her papers. She has Zantanon, Bill Cody, Three Bars, Sugar Bars, Quesiton Mark, and Pana Bar one generation off her papers. See her pedigree here.

MaMa King stands 15H. She has lovely short cannons and straight legs set on the corners of her frame. Her mane is silky and flaxen colored. And she has a nice fat hay belly--she's an easy keeper. We welcome MaMa King to our family.

Little Yellow Moon

Moon joined our family in late 2007. She is a lovely palomino Quarter Horse mare who has done several different things. She has worked cattle, barrel raced a little, and has been a good riding horse for people of all ages. We look forward to Moon being a part of our family. We plan to breed her with one of our stallions in the future. See her pedigree here.

Romans Red Ruby

From our stallion's, Roman Attraction, first foal crop in 2008, this filly is a very impressive gal. There is no such thing as a perfect horse, but she comes very close. Ruby is so easy to work with. She has let me put a fly sheet on her, spray her with fly spray and she is so good about it, doesn't freak out, just takes things in stride. She is very friendly. Her conformation is just stunning. Her legs are so straight. When she moves, sometimes it looks like her legs are attached to tracks like a roller coaster or train because they stay so straight and even. Look at this photo!
Ruby's legs are set squarely on her body. Sometimes when we photograph her from straight in front or straight behind, it looks like she only has 2 legs because her other 2 legs are placed so perfectly behind the front set.  We are very excited about Ruby's future. Stay tuned for updates.

HOLLY BARS REWARD

"Holly" is a new addition to our family. We got Holly in June of 2009. She is a short, stout appendix mare going back to KING and GO MAN GO. She came to us in foal to a well bred cutting horse (Doc Bar, Poco Bueno, Colonel Freckles, etc.) Her 2009 foal is listed below. You can see Holly's pedigree here. Holly is bred to our black stallion, APOLLO MAC, for 2010.

REYKING N THE RICHES

Our new filly out of Holly Bars Reward, by Sierra Doc San. View her pedigree here.
(Sierra Doc San)
She is solid, no white markings, cute and strong. She is smart and good around us "humans" right now, not skitish at all. Hope she stays sweet.
